A faulty or broken screen is one of the most common things that can go wrong with your laptop. Almost anything can go wrong with one, from dark displays to dead displays, missing areas, unwanted lines, colours or even a physical break to the screen can occur. This is why it is difficult to know what is wrong, never mind how to fix it.

I had one of these problems on my laptop screen. Laptop screens break on a lot of people’s computers apparently. When I turned my computer on one day, I noticed a lot of coloured, vertical lines on the screen. I thought that I had downloaded a virus or something, but after speaking to a friend, it turned out that I had damaged some of the pixels in the screen.

I decided to visit the computer repairs shop in town, and they confirmed that I had indeed physically broken my screen. They gave me a price and a timeline to fix it, but the price was extortionate and the duration would be weeks. I decided to take my laptop home and search for a better alternative.

I contacted the manufacturer with the details, but their offer was similar to that of the repair shop in town, plus, I had to post it to them.

The options were beginning to run out, so I borrowed my sister’s laptop to look for an alternative. It wasn’t long before I came across a company that could help. I phoned them and they offered to collect and return my laptop to my home or workplace, offered to run a full diagnostic inspection to find any other problems for free and gave a much better price to replace my screen than the alternatives.

After inspecting my computer, they gave me a price, and then it was up to me whether I wanted to proceed with the screen replacement; I definitely did.

They collected my laptop on the Tuesday, repaired it on the Wednesday, and I had it back at home by the Thursday! Just three days to get my laptop fixed.
